Bariatric Hospital Philosophy
|
WeightWise affiliated bariatric hospitals are centeredĀ on a philosophy that includes decreasing costs and improving clinical outcomes for bariatric patients. Our program emphasizes coordinated case management along with educating the patient, family and primary care provider about the goals of the procedure and what is expected of the patient. After care and strict adherence to a dietary and nutritional supplementation schedule is emphasized.
WeightWise bariatric hospital goals include:
- Provide maximum safety for patients by supplying properly proportioned and strengthened equipment to suit their needs.
- Provide maximum safety for staff by giving proper training for use of all specialized equipment.
- Staff who are properly informed and trained regarding the needs and concerns of bariatric patients. This includes, but is not limited to, psychologists, dietitians, transporters and nurses. These care givers are sensitive to and aware of obesity issues and their impact on the patient. This characteristic is expected of the entire staff and is continually evaluated.
- Program initiatives that reduce or remove patient fear, degradation and segregation.
- Creation of a task force to evaluate the needs of the obese for continual growth and advancements in this field. This task force also evaluates the maintenance and upgrades of equipment, as well as state of the art surgical tools.
- Awareness of all possible concerns with reimbursements and the ability to approach those concerns in the best possible manner.
Our top-notch bariatric programĀ has transformed the lives of our patients, due to our comprehensive approach and our fully trained staff ready to handle every patient need.
